About the Event
WikiConference Kerala is an initiative to support the Wikimedia ecosystem in Kerala and promote the Malayalam language, with collaboration from communities and organisations that share similar goals in open knowledge and free culture.
The 2025 edition of the conference was held at the Kerala Institute of Local Administration (KILA), Thrissur, Kerala, India, bringing together Wikimedians, contributors, researchers, and enthusiasts from across the region.
The conference serves as a platform to share knowledge, discuss ideas, strengthen collaborations, and grow the Wikimedia movement in Kerala.
Malayalam Wikipedia 23rd Birthday
As part of the celebrations, the 23rd birthday of Malayalam Wikipedia will also be observed during the conference.
Malayalam Wikipedia was launched on 21 December 2002, and over the years, it has grown into a vibrant community-driven knowledge platform in the Malayalam language.
This milestone was an opportunity to celebrate the journey, acknowledge contributors, and inspire new participants to join the movement.
